Background

Art Streiber is a world-class celebrity portrait photographer who wanted a refresh of his existing website, with better image layout, real content-management flexibility, faster load times, and a site that finally presented his photography the way it deserves.

Challenges

There was no off-the-shelf gallery system flexible enough for a photographer of Art's caliber, so I built three distinct layouts (Solo, Mosaic, and Grid) entirely from scratch, each with its own responsive math to keep photos correctly proportioned at any screen size. Migrating 337+ photos across 12-14 pages meant the system had to hold up under real-world scale, not just a handful of demo images.

Audience

Art's audience spans potential clients, advertising agencies, and anyone he wants to share his work with. The site holds 10 gallery pages, a home page slideshow, and an info page. Working alongside his photography curator, Beth Huerta, the galleries were built to let the photos speak for his talent and body of work, displaying each shoot exactly as Art intended, every time, without fail.

A CMS Built for His Vision

Powered by Sanity, the content management system was custom-tailored so Art can run his entire site himself, no code required. From the Studio, he can reorder photos, switch between the Solo/Mosaic/Grid layouts, resize images, adjust gaps and borders, and edit captions, all changes that would otherwise mean calling a developer. A full-screen lightbox viewer ties every gallery together for a polished, distraction-free way to browse his work, and a dedicated image-optimization pass keeps 300+ high-resolution photos loading fast instead of dragging the site down.

A Platform That Helps Art Stand Out

An outside agency built and hosted Art's previous site on a rigid content management system that didn't give him enough configurability to display his images the way he needed. The new site hands that control directly to Art: reordering photos, switching between layout types, resizing images, adjusting gaps and borders, and updating captions all happen in his own Sanity Studio, in minutes, with no developer required. It's also faster and protected, with right-click and drag-save disabled sitewide to guard against casual image theft. The product delivered isn't just a new look; it's a platform Art can keep running himself, built to scale as his body of work grows.
